Mission Call

It's so true that once you know your missionary application has been submitted for review and assignment you secretly check the mailbox daily, hoping to see that "white envelope."  It came close to a month after our Stake President (ecclesiastical leader) submitted it.  We both were on edge, wondering why it took so long and finally on a Friday night at the end of a long day it arrived!  Hallelujah!

We called our kids hoping we could do a group chat and open it.  You can see some of them at the bottom right.  Emily arranged it and sent us this photo! We are so happy that our dream of being a dentist and his assistant in Guatemala City is coming true on July 23, 2018.

Here is part of my missionary call:

"You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  You are assigned to labor in the Central America Area.  Your primary assignment is to labor as an assistant to the area dental advisor.  It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 18 months."

It is signed by Russell M. Nelson, President of the LDS Church.
